Viagra was the first erectile dysfunction drug licensed for the UK in 1998. It has been prescribed for more than 40 million patients a year for the treatment of impotence. There was a significant increase in the total number of patients with erectile dysfunction in the generic medicines group, but only 2% of the patients with an unlicensed one increased their doses by 50%.

A Korean erectile dysfunction (ED) drug sold in Korea, but is not in a medicine cabinet.
The Korean drug market is booming, and it is being hit by generic versions of erectile dysfunction medications like Viagra, Cialis and Levitra, which have recently become popular over-the-counter, with some being recalled and others seized in recent months.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is looking into the sale of the two medications in Korea, which are marketed under different brand names — "Viagra" and "Cialis."
According to an analysis by The Korean Times, the generic version of Viagra and Cialis is still available in Korea. It is the most prescribed version of the medication in the country, which is widely available in pharmacies.
A Korea-based research company, South Korean drug maker Kline Pharmaceutical, has discovered that the two medications are not in the medicine cabinet and are still available.
"Our research confirmed the existence of counterfeit versions of the two medications," Kline toldThe Korea Times.
The fake versions of Viagra and Cialis are being sold in Korea, and the two medications can be found in several countries around the world, including China.
Some of the fake versions of the pills that are sold in Korea are not made in Korea, but have been made in other countries.
"We are actively looking into the sale of the two medications to make sure that the counterfeit versions are authentic," Kline said. "We have confirmed that the fake versions of Viagra and Cialis are not in the medicine cabinet, and the counterfeit versions are being sold in the markets in Korea.
